Wynne

The sickly, chained gnome elder hidden in the tomb beneath Hump Town's city hall: the leverage keeping the gnomes from bombing the town. Wynne is a Flesh Mechanic, a healer able to temporarily bring the long-dead back to life, and the favored uncle of Commandant Kane of the Dreadnaught Wasteland. The dromedarians (really the changelings among them) keep him drugged, trying to force him to flesh out a Quetzalcoatlus. He begs Carl to kill him. Carl instead gets a quest to free him, his ticket onto the Wasteland, but a subterranean crawler, Low Thi, spears Wynne dead first, failing it.

Book 4 appearances

• Chapter 6 — Found chained past the quadrant boundary; killed by Low Thi before Carl can free him.
