Chicken and Waffles and Upgrades

The party walks into the town's new C&W&U diner, greeted by the flightless imp Darla-Dean and a menu that lists the buff or debuff on every item. Behind the jukebox, the top-shelf upgrade counter holds the corpse of Hickster the Upgrade Imp and a crayon note ordering Carl to come alone. Carl disarms a disintegration trap, calls Akuma out of the storeroom, and the ambush lands: Donut mutes the war mage, Elle freezes and shatters one of his testicles, and Imani prepares an anti-magic shield to make him talk.
