Fire Brandy & Tizquick's Sacrifice

The floor's quiet gut-punch. To overload the last soul crystals and crash the ghoul-generation system, Carl rigs the Nightmare Express with explosive satchels. Fire Brandy and the dwarf conductor Tizquick, who drove the train down to the yard, choose to stay aboard and ride it into the abyss. Both have woken to the truth: Brandy remembers the children every boiler-job stole from her; Tizquick's daughter was never real. They refuse to be used again. The blast crashes the ghoul system, opens the stairwells, and pushes Carl to level 41. He writes the 25th edition of the Cookbook: 'They will not break me… But I will break them. I will break them all.'
