The Cabaret Requirements

Akuma's condition on who may cross into the Pineapple Cabaret: nobody who worships a god. He says a worshipper entering would instigate a smite, something to do with how the space was built, and that its builders cannot risk being dragged into the Ascendency battles or noticed by the gods at all. Eris is waved off as an exception on the grounds that she already knows everything. The rule disqualifies Carl and most of his party on the spot.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 38 — Carl exchanges a look with Donut as Akuma states it, because it rules them both out along with most of the group.
• Chapter 40 — Osvaldo and Filipe L both worship Tupa, so the rule quietly writes off Team Flamengo as well.
