Crawler Coolie

19th-edition Cookbook annotator · martyr of Qurux

One of the doomed crawlers whose handwritten notes fill the Dungeon Anarchist’s Cookbook: Coolie wrote the 19th edition. His passages record being taken to an orbital ship with a glassless, forcefield-protected window overlooking his beloved home planet, Qurux, and his plan to smuggle bugbear paste in his boots and blow the ship to kill the two admins aboard. The bombing failed (the admins were holos and the forcefield held the wreck together) and Coolie died slowly of cold and suffocation, gazing at his planet. Carl reads his note about that forcefield and uses the exact insight to engineer Loita’s death, then thanks Coolie in the 25th edition, dedicating his “first step” to him and to the girl Bonnie.
