Spell / Skill · debuts Book 8, Chapter 61 — “Li Na Goes to Market”

Deadly Bloom

Spell / Skill · Li Na's dread trap

A dread trap Li Na sets on a living plant. Armed, it glows; when anything comes near the flowers open and release a spore that paralyses. Rosetta has her cast it on the little cactus out of Carl's room and then repurposes the whole arrangement as a status beacon, because the trap's condition reports its caster's: a steady glow means Li Na is alive inside the dungeon, a discharge that blooms and then goes dark means she has physically left the game, a glow that fades over several days means she is stuck in storage, and a trap that fails without firing while the cactus crumbles to dust means she died in the dungeon. She can also open a single flower remotely to signal that the escape route is safe for others, or three flowers to signal that it is not.
