The Dungeon Boss
The top of the dungeon's boss ladder, disclosed only when Carl asks for it by name. The System AI lists the tiers it has been running all along — neighborhood, borough, city, province, country, floor — and then adds the one it had never bothered to mention, because no crawler had ever gotten far enough for it to matter: the Dungeon boss, the final boss of the entire dungeon. Summoning it does not offer a win. Killing it would have the same effect as a Crawler Extinction, and winning still means walking out through the final door on the eighteenth floor. But a kill rewrites the rules: level timers cease to exist, floors after this one stop collapsing on their own, no further deals are offered after the twelfth-floor one, and the Ascendency battles begin at once — with the dungeon itself folding twelve hours after a winner is crowned. Leaving it alive on a collapsing floor is worse: the boss is removed from the playing field and the dungeon can never be exited at all. Either outcome triggers the boss's remaining attacks, all at once, and there is nothing anyone can do about that.

- Chapter 94 — Announced as the tier above floor boss the moment Scolopendra enters — never mentioned before because nobody had ever gotten this far — along with the full rule set for killing it, abandoning it, and the nine-attack consequence either way.
