Gamori

Matriarch of the Plenty and formerly the lead engineer of its Tunnel Project, attending the caprid broadcast as a holo in robes cinched by an ornate belt. She stays seated while the rest of the council stampedes, tells Carl she does not consider him an enemy but that he is too dangerous to walk among the herd, and then breaks down weeping and hitting herself over having been too frightened to warn her people. Harbinger, whom she has already had expelled, calls her Mother; she orders him away and, once the System AI has burst him across the studio, blinks out saying every stampede has its casualties.

• Chapter 29 — Identified by the System as Matriarch of the Plenty and the Tunnel Project's lead engineer, she judges Carl too dangerous for the herd, then collapses into apologies for hiding the news from her people; she expels Harbinger from the room moments before the AI kills him.
