Lore · debuts Book 8, Chapter 27 — “Greenroom on the Ocean Floor”
Interlocution
Caprid format · Judgement as a talk show
The caprid interview format used by Plenty of Plenty. The guest sits in the centre of a roundtable of about a dozen interviewers and is judged by each in turn. Being asked a question is treated as a great compliment, and a guest may decline to answer anyone they do not judge worthy, though Lexis advises answering everyone since it is all for show. She adds that the thing ends with the guests exerting themselves, and refuses to explain what that means beyond telling them they will know what to do.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 27 — Lexis explains the format in the greenroom, including the seating, the judging and the unexplained ending.
- Chapter 28 — In practice it opens with a death sentence, an appeal, and a rotating turntable, with each goat lit in turn to deliver its verdict.
