A Parade of Horribles · Chapter 28
Interlocution
Botis, the caprid magistrate, sentences Carl and Donut to death on air, then stays it on appeal, and a circle of goats takes turns judging them. Bathin explains that Justice Light's trap broke the in-game Nothing and loosed its inhabitants into three levels of the game, naming Kyryap and Krakaren Prime inside Club Scolopendra. Orren and Prime Minister Victory break into Carl's chat: the escaped AI has spread beyond the solar system, the unsponsored gods are roaming free because the AI's control over them has been switched off, and only the Plenty can shut down the tunnelling system. Carl throws away Orren's scripted question and asks live whether the public knows it needs to run.
