Jezebel

The baby hedgehog who beat a kitten Princess Donut in the Cutest in Show run-off at a sprawling pet festival in Tacoma, one of the very few of Donut's shows Carl actually attended because it had a beer garden. She came from a hedgehog rescue and her win put Bea into a funk for the rest of the day. Donut insists none of this has anything to do with her opinion of hedgehogs, then relitigates the result at length on the starting line of Satan's Water Park.

• Chapter 48 — Carl dredges up the Tacoma pet festival where Donut lost Cutest in Show to a rescue hedgehog named Jezebel, beating a Great Dane puppy, a snake and a ferret along the way. Donut denies the grudge and then argues the contest was fixed.
