King Rust’s Parlay

Rather than open the assault, King Rust (revealed to have come up from the 18th floor in place of his son Stalwart) rides out alone and requests an official, registered parlay. Adjutants raise twin protection bubbles enforcing saferoom rules: no chat, no harm to either party, lifting only once the two move ~100 meters apart. Donut hastily readies Ferdinand's howdah and rhino so she can meet the towering orc as an equal. The meeting sets up Rust's stunning confession about his daughter's failsafe plot.
