The floor boon Emberus grants Carl after Pater Coal washes his feet “in the fires of the dying sun.” Every step Carl takes outside a structure is marked on the map; if his health drops to 5% he may release a gout of flame from every spot he stood, and it triggers automatically on death. Steps reset each activation. It also gives +10% Strength. The catch is in the name: it rewards walking to the edge of death, turning Carl's own footprints into a posthumous minefield he has to keep his own party clear of.
