The Necropolis of Anser
Bubble #543 · a tomb under a desert bowl
The colossal tower-tomb that Carl's entire bubble sits atop. From the surface the Air Quadrant looks like a vast sand-blasted bowl, ringed by a hundred-foot wall and capped by a forcefield dome miles overhead, but the ground is carved stone, and beneath it sprawls the Subterranean Quadrant: a booby-trapped Indiana-Jones labyrinth of hieroglyph-carved catacombs, far worse than the Iron Tangle. Relief carvings of a flaming, screaming pterodactyl line its halls. A crawler can't cross into the tomb until the bubble's gnome castle is liberated.
Book 4 appearances
- Chapter 1 — Named in the dome’s lore; Carl realizes the “mountain” bowl is a sculpted tomb.
- Chapter 6 — Carl loots the catacomb plans from city hall’s hidden tomb chamber: a maze that dwarfs the Iron Tangle.
