Character · debuts Book 5, Chapter 3 — “The Null Lawyer”
Quasar, the Null
Carl’s gray-alien attorney
Carl's improbable lawyer: a four-and-a-half-foot gray alien of the Nullian race ('the Null'), a cartoon Area-51 grey in a tan suit and a gyrating-hula-girl tie, with a chain-vaping habit and a rapid-fire, foul-mouthed New York manner. Summoned the instant Carl says 'I want a lawyer,' he represents Crawler #4,122 and no one else. His advice: say nothing to a liaison but 'I want to talk to my lawyer,' and never touch an item under administrative hold (it would have deleted the Gate). He frames himself as the condom on the Syndicate's inevitable screwing, and it was his idea to demand the Zerzura spell as collateral.
Book 5 appearances
- Chapter 1 — Appears the moment Carl demands a lawyer, halting Orren’s attempt to make him pick up the held artifact.
- Chapter 3 — Negotiates the collateral package and pitches the carnage-spell Zerzura, citing Remex the Grand’s legendary exit deal.
