Samantha's Sacrifice
gives up her promised naiad body
With Louis dying (Epitome Tagg's symbiotic heart and lungs set to kill him the moment Team Retribution claims the Dream castle) Samantha proposes the only fix: transplant the heart and lungs from the half-finished flesh golem of Princess Lunette that Carl carries in his inventory. That golem was the body meant one day to house Samantha herself, so offering it means surrendering her own chance at a real body for the foreseeable future. Carl calls the choice brave and heroic; the chapter ends as the System announces Emberus has entered the realm.
