Shadow Boxer (OIPAN Program)

A documentary-style, pre-recorded interview show, an NFC non-profit owned by Carl's pacifist sponsor OIPAN, that Zev books the pair onto in place of Odette's (postponed while she travels for Faction Wars). Pitched like the earlier Earth Beautiful program but built from storytelling vignettes, it means to dig specifically into Carl's life from ages 15 to 18: the years he spent without a guardian until he aged out and joined the Coast Guard. Donut's companion segment is about the television that shaped her. Because a sponsor owns it, Zev and a liaison must both attend to police any unfair advantage, and OIPAN's quiet insistence on getting Carl onto it ties back to Orren the liaison's unfinished Floor-7 warning.

• Chapter 7 — Zev books Carl and Donut onto the show in Odette’s absence.
• Chapter 12 — The taping: hosted by ex-crawler Rosetta Thagra under the unblinking eye of the caprid liaison Harbinger, it works through Donut’s TV obsessions and then turns, pointedly, to Carl’s dead mother.
• Chapter 13 — The taping is cut short when Harbinger accuses Carl of trading coded cookbook phrases with Rosetta; he bans her and ends the show.
