Sin of Consumption

Attack two of nine. It arrives as a wheel that appears wherever you happen to be standing — the Ox slot already spent, eight left — and lands on a set of squiggles the System admits it does not know how to treat as temporary. Everyone in reach gets a mini wheel and a 30% chance to be hit; anyone landing in the red has worms burst out of them and devour them on the spot. It reaches inside Club Scolopendra despite the resort's protections, kills a third of the arena's mobs, takes a webbed guest and Donut's mount Sweety, and leaves the surviving mounts full of worms. Mordecai reports from the safe room that game guides appear immune and that safe rooms are not safe from nine-tier attacks — Bucket Boy was hit and healed in time.

• Chapter 95 — Released while Carl is in the club corridor; the club does not stop it, a third of the arena's mobs die, and Mordecai establishes that safe rooms offer no protection from the nine-tier attacks.
