Soul Suck

The Ginger ability to pull a soul out through eye contact, chanted at Carl's truck by Great Rusty. Carl's Mind Balance skill negates it and Donut's constitution-and-charisma combination would have too, but it takes Olga, who slumps unconscious under a debuff named Gingered with her health draining away. Mordecai explains that killing the caster returns the soul and stops the bleed, yet leaves the victim in a fugue until a cleric provides specialised healing.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 43 — Great Rusty's chant is negated on Carl by Mind Balance but lands on Olga, who drops with the Gingered debuff; killing him wakes her without lifting the debuff, and she is left staring into space.
• Chapter 44 — Olga is still unconscious the whole way to the pit stop, and Donut suggests the town may have a cleric who can wake her.
