Widow's Rights
Old Naga law · claim on an assassin
An old Naga law under which a royal widow may claim her husband's assassin as her new husband. It normally extends only to the primary wife, but with the obsidian who held that slot dead alongside Princess Vinata, Chandra moved up into it for a matter of hours — long enough to assert the right and name Carl. Claiming it is also why she accepted the noble title of princess she had not wanted.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 0 — Chandra asserts it in Naga court to claim Carl as her husband, the marriage ruling and certificate landing in the folder she slides across to Donut. The right is the reason she took the princess title from her uncle's new regime at all, and she qualifies only because the primary wife died with Vinata and moved her up the order.
