Ysalte (the Vinegar Bitch)

An Earth-and-Water trickster goddess worshipped only by the Semeru Dwarves of Larracos, who raise her single temple and call her the Downward Spiral; outside it she's the “Vinegar Bitch.” Hated by gods and demons alike, she's said to forever scheme, killing and resurrecting nations like chess pieces, and the cookbook's T'Ghee decks render her as “The Inevitable.” Rumor ties her to Scolopendra's nine-tier attack. She usually emerges at the end of Faction Wars to slaughter the approaching teams. On Floor 9 the demon Amayon screams her name as the entity thwarting his return, and Mordecai realizes she, like Sister Ines, is secretly sponsored by the Nebulars.

• Chapter 69 — Slain by her own totem Paz Lo and Katia’s Bolt; her memorial crystal is seeded for a future floor and her worshippers cursed with Despondent.
