Leaving the Royal Court

The Vengeance procession comes together as five vehicles, three mounts and a marching band of Mongo, Rend, Simoom, Gonk and Bianca, all of it buried under thousands of Requite Dahlias that Donut grows in the black, gold, magenta and white her Gurkha class already dresses everyone in. The class also issues magical Gurkha hats that fit themselves to a shark, a snail and an eyestalk, mount blankets worth twenty per cent constitution and a skill called Steady Charge, and kukri claw caps for Mongo. Carl surveys the other four themes: Florin is not trying for Resolution, the Decision team has literally built the giant menu Donut proposed as a joke, Elle and Imani have dropped the warlord heads on pikes for something Carl finds more biting, and the Destruction group means to arrive with an Abrams tank, a Fleetwood motorhome and every weapon already drawn. Bucket Boy is excused from the fight and sent to the guild commons. Then Carl leaves the Royal Court of Princess Donut so that his death would cost her nothing, has his personal space segregated and rejoined to the guild under Safehome Yolanda, and both of them lose their titles as the parade is called to the staging area.
