Sarah Hayse

A hexcrafter paladin, one of the twenty-three crawlers still standing when the parade is called, and the partner of the Hawaiian crawler with the very long name who goes by Makana. Their group draws the Destruction theme and is rounded out by crawlers from China that Carl does not know well. Their answer to the theme is a tricked-out Abrams tank, an elderly Fleetwood motorhome and the plan of simply turning up with every weapon already out and ready.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 90 — Named as Makana's partner on the Destruction float, whose entire concept is an Abrams tank, a Fleetwood motorhome and arriving armed.
• Chapter 92 — Among those firing every weapon on the Destruction float at once when the AI's story reaches the war.
• Chapter 98 — The hexcrafter who had been standing out of the Abrams cursing its main gun into Krakaren is found spread across the playing field with the tank's three crew after a tentacle hits the vehicle, leaving only Makana alive off the Destruction float.
