The Creeping Apocalypse

The world quest the System springs the moment Miriam Dom dies. Her death cured the floor’s vampires, but the undead body-part minions Big Tina raised weren’t vampires and survived, leaderless. Thousands became Shambling Berserkers, and fifty grew into “Odious Creepers,” the most powerful monsters ever to walk a sixth floor. Every active crawler and hunter is force-enrolled: kill all fifty Creepers before sunset or face “something completely batshit.” Rewards are deliberately lavish (+5 random stat per kill, +5 levels per five, a grand prize for the most), bait to flush the cowering hunters out of Zockau into a bloodbath. (The System gleefully narrates the reporter Nihit being eaten by one mid-announcement.)

Book 5 appearances

• Chapter 48 — Sprung as Miriam dies: kill 50 Odious Creepers by sundown or face “batshit” consequences.
• Chapter 52 — FAILED: two Creepers stranded in hunter-only territory go unkilled, triggering the Blood Bar saferoom timer and the floor-swallowing Gehenna Bramble.
