Eris Has Entered the Realm

The System notice that fires when the goddess of chaos arrives: the Scavenger's Daughter opens her eyes and fills with power, and everyone present is flagged as being in the presence of a deity. Because Eris is chaos, the accompanying effect is rerolled every time she appears. This visit's roll makes one random temporary magical effect, item or aura belonging to somebody else in the group permanent — which is how Imani's Legendary card summon stops being a card.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 35 — The notice freezes the street and Donut with it; Carl is left awake inside it, and Eris tells him the effect has landed on somebody nearby rather than on him.
• Chapter 36 — The matching departure notice closes the Scavenger's Daughter's eyes, and Imani finds out moments later what the roll did to her card.
