The Faction-Wars Pre-Production Meeting
The fifth pre-production meeting for the ninth floor's Faction Wars, which Carl and Donut attend as warlord-sponsors of the Princess Posse, their first look at the rival teams. Around Cascadia's round table sit the orcs' Crown Prince Stalwart, the Blood Sultanate's naga envoy Rishi, Empress D'Nadia of the Prism Kingdom, the gestalt-blob Operatic Collective, the dream-elf Epitome Tagg of the Dream, surfer-voiced Luke of the Lemig Sortion, a faceless Viceroy of the Madness, and the Dyson-sphere robot Warlord Fangs of the Reavers: ten sections in all. The meetings keep collapsing into chaos: the rogue changeling Juice Box, having woken the floor's NPCs, infiltrates and assassinates attendants to force her demands, and the warlords openly fret that the NPCs 'becoming self-aware' will make the season unwinnable.
