The Kravyad

Blue six-armed naga · dark-magic handlers of the 435 employee portal

Non-combatant NPCs in charge of ‘employee return’ at the end of the line: blue, six-armed naga-like creatures stationed at station 435 as part of management’s productivity ‘initiative.’ Between shifts they hypnotize conductors and porters into a ‘pre-production stupor’ so they can’t request time off, eating a dwarf or two a shift as payment. The dwarf and grapple crews file into their tunnel to be prepared for a portal back to the depot: a portal with a memory-wiping side effect ‘human resources is looking into,’ which is why no crew ever remembers the end of the line. The portal is the only safe exit at 435 and is lifebound: harm a Kravyad and it threatens suicide, and the moment one dies the portal snaps shut, stranding everyone relying on it. Engineers like Gore-Gore skip it and drive their engine car through the abyss gate instead.
