Event · debuts Book 4, Chapter 21 — “The Glass Mage”
Ghazi’s Folly (the Lika Affair)
A summoned god, a sand wife, a doomed castle
The truth behind the Land Quadrant, looted from the mage's lab. Ghazi, a pathetic neckbeard Glass Mage from the Larracos college, came not for teleportation research but to summon Yarilo, god of Lust, and make the fictional half-naiad stage heroine Lika (a soul trapped in a companion device he owned) truly fall in love with him. What he actually summoned was Psamathe, a banished lesser deity who duped him: his botched ritual crystallized the whole castle, married him to a sand ooze, and loosed Psamathe under the tomb. His college's letter and a bitter note from the colleague Tish he abandoned warn that if Quetzalcoatlus is made corporeal, Psamathe resurrects and the true gods will answer with an age of chaos.
