Where the Sidewalk Ends
The regional quest the System grudgingly grants Carl's squad once the keyless thousands agree to stop fighting. The betrayed Demon Prince Amayon, trapped in the Madre de Aguas, must cast a wide-area portal that inhales every soul in the Cuba region to pay his tithe home to Sheol (Floor 15), and Carl and Prepotente theorize that a buried, isolated stairwell chamber is the one place a crawler can ride that upward portal out of the floor without a key. Three options: do nothing (the portal fires in two hours and stays open); free Amayon from his shell (he takes true form, resetting it into a never-before-seen World quest); or kill him (he's invulnerable here, reward: a Celestial Hell Boon). Carl chooses to free and buff the demon so the portal spans the whole planet, saving the keyless everywhere.
Book 6 appearances
- Chapter 61 — Carl and Prepotente reason out the ride-the-soul-portal escape from the demon-eviction mechanics.
- Chapter 62 — The quest formalizes the gambit with its three options; Carl commits to buffing Amayon for a global portal.
- Chapter 64 — The assault on the FOSCA tower begins: kill Sister Ines, free Amayon, then make the portal as large as possible.
