Zipper Shrews

Level 10 rodents infesting Satan's Water Park: ordinary tiny shrews except that each has a drill where its head should be. They scream along the lip of the half-pipes keeping pace with the racers, leap at the vehicles and get zapped off by the shields. They rain onto the track constantly through the run down.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 49 — Swarm the edge of the half-pipe beside Carl's truck, jumping at it and bouncing off the shield, and keep falling on the vehicle all the way to ground level.
• Chapter 50 — Pulled in by Donut's summons, they drill along the frozen river killing everything in the path, unpeel the heat's boss from behind into a flower of flesh, then suicide against the truck's shield in their thousands until it goes red.
