Traps of the kind Carl had just looted from a war mage hiding behind a door: completely silent when they activate, and each targets a single individual only. Carl lays one on each side of Team One Fine Pig's armored racer while Princess Donut holds the crew's attention, taking about five seconds per trap and programming both to fire only on Tigrans so that Penelope stays safe even if someone is carrying her. Both go off in the next chapter and dissolve Dario and Nico.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 46 — Carl plants two of them beside the Tigran APV, as close to the shield as he dares, keyed to Tigrans so Penelope cannot trip them.
- Chapter 47 — Both fire at the pit stop; the System reports a dissolved Tigran, then another, and Team One Fine Pig is eliminated.
- Chapter 74 — The false gates on the fifth floor conceal one, and Prepotente's team comes within a bad steer of it; a Trap Sensing ability or advanced GPS will flag the counterfeit before a team drives through.
