Mark of the Damned

Carl abandoned his god on purpose in the middle of a fight, and both tattoos on the backs of his hands burst into searing flame when he did. After the arena clears, the glow is gone. The sun shapes remain, raised now, angry scars, and examining either of them returns the same three words and no further explanation at all. Whatever the smite actually did is filed under things Carl will have to deal with later, along with the separate debuff his abandoned Emberus ring left behind.

• Chapter 98 — Both of Carl's sun tattoos stop glowing and settle into scars whose examine text is only this name; a separate unresolved debuff from the Emberus ring is sitting in his menus.
