Team Sparkles Has Been Eliminated
The first thing that happened when the final heat's light went green. Dwight burst off the line dragging a missile cart he never got to use; Carl had parked deliberately close so the cannon on Dwight's vine could not fully deploy on their side, and it retracted and popped out the other instead, firing point-blank into Bruna, whose shield was already up. Dr. Metcalf answered on the instant — hole punch, then potion: a shield came open, the newly redesigned vine-killing potion balls went through it, and the electrical disrupter ball shorted out Dwight's GPS, the fairy he had built to look and sound like the late Lucienne. Donut was out the passenger window as smoke, and before Bruna had finished staggering the vine was dead, the shield was fully down, and Dwight's head came off in a single swipe of her claw. His magical horn was in her inventory before the notification arrived; the System's elimination notice broke off mid-sentence to call it badass. The vine shrivelled where it stood, leaving a goopy black stain on the lobby floor and the missile cart still sitting on it.

- Chapter 82 — Team Sparkles was the first team eliminated in the final race: the cannon on Dwight's vine misfired into Bruna, Dr. Metcalf's hole punch and potion balls killed the vine and shorted the GPS, and Donut took Dwight's head and horn before the System's notice — which broke off mid-sentence to call it badass — arrived.
