The Vehicle Wheel

Before the first heat the party leader must declare mechanical or biological, and then a wheel of more than a hundred cartoon silhouettes spins to decide the actual chassis or creature. School bus, Hummer, moped, dump truck, snowmobile, bookmobile, popemobile, forklift, missile launcher, something that might be a Zamboni: there is no choosing and no rerolling. Everything in the arena is proprietary, so repair and fix scrolls and potions do nothing to a vehicle and pet spells do nothing for a special mount. Donut declares mechanical on the grounds that a machine will not eat Mongo, and the wheel gives the party a food truck.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 1 — The System tells the party leader to pick a manner of vehicle and then spin for the specifics; the two applicant gremlins spend the countdown arguing the merits of Charm Wombats and Cloud Cheetahs against a machine that will not eat the party's pet.
• Chapter 2 — The wheel materializes over the remains of the losing applicant, spins through a hundred-odd Earth vehicles and stops on a box truck with windows.
