Wall Rats

NPCs who kept their memories through the wipe

A class of NPC the System AI names almost in passing while explaining what it just watched die. Most NPCs are wiped and rewritten with the dungeon between seasons; Wall Rats are the ones who worked out how to get themselves out of that cycle. They live in the deep, hidden parts of the dungeon and carry persistent memory from one season to the next. The real Mitch Fiorelli was one of them — which is why the casino's croupier had a history, a predecessor and opinions about crawlers — and the Shadow Mimic wearing his name and face ate him for it. The AI's closing note on the subject is that Shadow Mimics love eating flesh, so watch out.
