Cleaner Bot

The safe room's cleaning unit. It works through the heap of junk from Carl's fan box, sucks up almost all of it, and leaves a small pile of things worth a second look in the corner. It also shrills at Bigs while she is being sick, and spends the following scene being hunted by Samantha, who tries to catch it in her mouth.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 25 — Has the safe room spotless by the time Carl gets back, having sorted the fan-box haul down to a small pile of items of interest. It shrills at Bigs, who is vomiting in the corner.
• Chapter 26 — Samantha growls and jumps at it, trying to catch it in her mouth, which is enough to make Rosetta switch to chat before reporting.
• Chapter 55 — Crawlers have complained since the previous floor that the Cleaner Bot upgrade is gone from the personal space shop, blamed on Faction Wars warlords buying them up. That is part of it; the rest is Herot's standing order on every unit. The white bot Carl looted from Architect Houston's surgical theater is an old model, and it was the last one the store had.
• Chapter 60 — The cleaner bot is caught pressed against the common room door eavesdropping on Porky and Dong; Carl apologises for the abuse it takes, calls it a hero and warns it will be needed again, and it answers with a long beep.
• Chapter 61 — The bots get names now that there are two, Suckira for the white one and Ezra Fitz the Second for the party's own, and their weight-based utility inventory turns out to be the only container that will hold a loaded pet carrier; the party's bot has limited room left after clearing up Carl's Naga inheritance, and one bot can move about fifty people.
• Chapter 67 — Each one can carry only about fifty people to the Cabaret by Mordecai's estimate; three more have been found, and Prepotente, who part-owns one of them, is reluctant to donate it.
• Chapter 73 — The bots are the transport out: Carl's carried forty, Bobby Montague's carried 105, and every cleaner bot on the market was purchased immediately once the transfer began.
