Filipe L

A level 63 human Strongman on the reins of Bruna, and Osvaldo's last teammate. Carl has seen him around for floors without ever speaking to him: about Carl's own height, all muscle, and enormous beside Osvaldo. Like the rest of their team he poured his early points into one stat, in his case strength, and like Osvaldo he worships Tupa — which is what puts the Pineapple Cabaret out of reach for both of them.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 40 — Drives Bruna to the starting block; Carl notes the single-stat strength build and, with dismay, the worship of Tupa.
• Chapter 53 — Stands outside garage three with Osvaldo under the giant painted number, talking across to the bugbears.
• Chapter 59 — Filipe is out on the cul-de-sac with Osvaldo, on friendly enough terms with the other crews to wave.
• Chapter 73 — He rides Bruna alongside Osvaldo at the starting line and is included in Osvaldo's decision to refuse any deal and take their chances.
• Chapter 77 — Crosses the line with Osvaldo with a minute left on the race clock, ahead of a scatter of teams racing the timeout.
• Chapter 79 — Filipe took a deal behind Osvaldo's back after Donut talked him into it, jockeying the sixth heat first so as not to strand his teammate completely, and made her promise to say nothing until he was already inside the guild.
