Finley

A level 81 Porsuk hired with team Helix as Carl's other replacement driver, one of the badger folk Carl mostly knows as bartenders. His claws glow green with an enchantment that suggests poison. He got a scratch in on the chain demon who killed the squad's friend Helado, and is entirely unprepared for Samantha, who latches onto his ankle within a minute of meeting him.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 34 — Finley is introduced with team Helix, shows off his enchanted claws to Samantha, and immediately regrets it.
• Chapter 35 — Quemada names him and Olga as the reason she inflated the fee — she wants them able to stop racing after she dies.
• Chapter 41 — Carl assigns Finley, Donut and Quemada the rear and side watch for the race; Finley is the first to notice Quemada has stopped moving.
• Chapter 54 — Carl remembers the instant Finley was mowed down while he watches the Yokai cheer their singer on, and the cruelty of the floor gets to him.
• Chapter 60 — Carl lists the moment he did slip and lose control after Finley and the others died as proof the edge is already behind him.
