The River of Sloth

The water park's lazy river and the slowest of the ground-level routes to the exit, running just south of the giant loop-de-loop. The water is deeper than in the tubes and rafts are supposedly provided. The season pass holders keep their base camp at its halfway point, so Carl's team would have been forced down it either way — their standing quest is to find and kill Maurice.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 48 — Named as Carl's chosen ground-level path, south of the loop; the ginger base camp sits at its halfway mark, which makes the route unavoidable given the team's quest.
• Chapter 49 — Carl runs the truck along the park wall toward the lazy river's entrance arch, and the clockwork Olga falls out of the driver's door just short of it.
• Chapter 50 — The lazy river full of tubed gingers is frozen end to end by Gutter Bumper and Ice Slick, driven over by the truck instead of rafted down it, harrowed by the dragged weapon chain and then finished by thousands of summoned shrews; the ice ends up red.
