The Lollipop

The bar next door to the Hairpin, chosen by Imani C as the crawlers' meeting spot precisely because everyone is avoiding its neighbour. Its neon sign shows a gremlin waving an oversized lollipop, and a second sign advertises karaoke; the song book runs entirely to 1980s tracks. Safe room rules do not apply inside. The bartenders and DJ are gremlins and most of the crowd are NPC racers.

• Chapter 14 — Spotted beside the Hairpin; Jurgen and Prepotente are arguing at a meat stall directly outside it when Carl arrives.
• Chapter 15 — Carl's whole circle of crawlers is gathered at a back table here, drinking and comparing race vehicles while rival racers sing karaoke.
• Chapter 16 — The song argument and Prepotente's private request for advice both happen at the crawlers' table here.
