The Coblyn Corporation's boys' range, shipped in crates spray-painted with a stencilled label reading boy action figures, case of 500, assorted. One such crate sits against the trapped floor in the doll-packing room, scorched around the edges and smoking as though it will go up at any second. When it splits open the contents come out animate — soldier figures the size of a forearm, pattering over the roof and sides of Carl's truck, spilling onto the ground and back down into the hole, all of them smoking and melting in the heat. The named specimen Carl meets is el Asesino de la Melaza.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 64 — Carl reads the stencil on the huge smoking crate his truck is parked against, then the crate breaks open and a swarm of soldier action figures patters over the truck.
• Chapter 65 — A dozen of the figures ride the hood into the next room, holding on and army-crawling toward the windshield.
