Roller Limbo

The Golden upgrade Carl takes for the factory track: a trans-dimensional modification that lets the vehicle race upside down and, given a gap of ten centimetres or more, change shape and slip underneath any obstacle at all - including other vehicles. It is the answer to a course advertising vertical climb and inverted racing on paths only wide enough for two.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 52 — Chosen as the single Golden pick after Hedy trades the other slot down for three regular upgrades, specifically to answer the next track's climbs and inversions.
• Chapter 65 — Holds the truck firmly to the ceiling conduit above the molten river once the spider legs have inverted it, letting Carl outpace several other racers on a stretch that slows almost everyone else.
