The Stage Performance Guild
A guildhall concealed inside the Lollipop and reached through the karaoke stage. Tipid comes back from town believing he knows how to find it, warning in the same breath that Carl is not going to like what getting in requires — and he is right, because the price is singing. A handful of songs in the bar’s binder carry a secret mark; picking one starts the entrance sequence and raises a red-to-green gauge over the performer, much like the meter in Guitar Hero, and only someone who holds the needle in the green for a whole song is admitted. A duet counts, provided the song is listed with two singers. Carl gets in on the first attempt, through a stabbing, a bar brawl and a booth blown out mid-verse, and the guild behind the door turns out to be a dusty five-hundred-seat theater under a single spotlight.
Book 8 appearances
- Chapter 26 — Reported in chat alongside Rosetta's news that they think they have found a fleshmancer.
- Chapter 39 — Tipid insists the guildhall is hidden inside the bar the party has already visited, and that getting in will cost them something they will not like.
- Chapter 40 — A rival's attempt at entry is described in passing: she picked a Journey song and did not engage her Auto-Tune.
- Chapter 53 — Access is earned by performing, which is why Prepotente plans a Phil Collins number alongside Donut's surprise duet.
- Chapter 56 — The entrance rules turn out to allow a duet, provided the chosen song is listed with two singers, which is what lets Carl and Donut attempt it together.
- Chapter 57 — The song survives a stabbing, a brawl and a shorted-out booth, and the System grants Carl permanent access to the Stage Performance Guild on the spot, with an achievement attached.
- Chapter 58 — The hidden guild proves to be a whole theater, red velvet seating for five hundred under a single blaring spotlight and a thick layer of dust over everything, and even its entry notification stutters as the dungeon's messaging degrades.
