Splash Zone

One of the crowd riding out the layover in Carl and Donut's safe room. He takes a turn at the console against Samantha and, when she declares the losers hers for eternity, folds his arms and points out that he never made a bet. Samantha's counter is that she never promised not to kill his mother either.

Book 8 appearances

• Chapter 25 — Plays a round of Mario Kart against Samantha, Doctor Bones and two level 10 sluggalos, then refuses to honour a wager he never made.
• Chapter 34 — Splash Zone nurses Gluteus Maxx through his overdose on the couch and is unimpressed by Donut's plan to charm the rival Corcunda.
• Chapter 55 — Splash Zone writes the casino off — he watched the croupier stab Gluteus for nothing and the harmless spaces get swapped for punishments — then asks Carl's leave to take the audience Hamed's guards have granted him, hoping the new leader can help him find his wife. He takes Gluteus and Doctor Bones with him and sends Bucket Boy to the bar in his place.
• Chapter 58 — Carl calls Splash Zone for help handling Dong and gets no answer; the stripper crew is still inside the Desperado Club.
• Chapter 59 — Splash Zone stops answering entirely and the System reports him off the floor and uncontactable while still billing his daily fee; he had gone with the others to see the Desperado Club's new boss.
• Chapter 83 — Carl contrasts the notification he got when Pontiff jumped with what happened to Splash Zone and the others, and reads the difference as evidence the holding-area route is real.
• Chapter 85 — Carl reasons that Splash Zone would never have missed the Nothing spot, because he was specifically looking for it — so either it was deliberately hidden before, or it was added afterwards as bait.
• Chapter 87 — Carl hopes they got clear of the mimics and notes they still do not know Dong Quixote is dead; he wants the chance to tell them himself how their friend died.
